Drakes Beach Clean Up and MPA Watch Training

June 6, 2015 10:00 am – 2:00 pm *free*

Join the EAC and Marin MPA Watch volunteers on the beach.  We are kicking off celebration of World Oceans Day by cleaning up our beloved Drakes Beach!  We will collect debris from the beach, sort, count and classify for a future public awareness campaign being managed by Marin MPA Watch college interns over the summer.  Marin MPA Watch team members will be on the beach to provide information about our Marine Protected Areas.

West Marin Environmental Update and Screening of REVOLUTIONREVOLUTION MOVIE POSTER

Join the EAC staff at the Bolinas Community Center Main Hall for an informative conversation about the current environmental issues facing West Marin.

EAC will discuss Pesticide Spraying Lawsuit, Marin Local Coastal Plan, Point Reyes National Seashore Ranch Management Plan, Marin MPA Watch and Oil Spill Prevention & Response Campaign.

Following our meeting, we provide a free screening of the 2014 environmental film, REVOLUTIONFilmmaker Rob Stewart brings us Revolution, a full-length feature film that is inspiring humanity to change the world and save our planet. Along with world renowned experts, he learns that past evolutions can help solve some of our current and future environmental problems. Startling, beautiful, and provocative, Revolution has already won awards at international film festivals and shows us that we can make a difference.

Piper on the Ridge:

September 27, 2015.  Contact events[at] for more information.  Bring your friends and a picnic to this time-honored tradition to celebrate the changing seasons atop Mount Vision in Point Reyes National Seashore while bagpiper Dan McNear plays to the setting sun and rising full moon. We will begin gathering at 5:30pm – follow the signs to the parking area atop Mt. Vision Road. The sunset is at approximately 7:00 p.m.
