Resources For Reporting Pollution

Harmful materials introduced into the environment (air, water, or land) are called pollutants. Some pollutants are natural, but others are created by human activities, such as trash, industrial chemicals, mining, agriculture, sewage, cars, and pesticides. Pollution is a global problem with global consequences, like climate change, the plastic trash crisis in our ocean, and the hole in the ozone layer. If we want to ensure a clean future for ourselves and generations to come, we need to be better stewards and combat pollution when we come across it to keep our air and water clean and safe.

Click on the images below to find resources to report pollution problems, monitor clean air and water online, learn how to dispose of human trash and hazardous waste, and where to find restrooms. We have consolidated information on the government agencies and nonprofits working to prevent pollution and increase public education on the impacts of pollution in coastal Marin County for ease of use for the general public.
