38th Annual San Sculpture Contest at Drakes Beach

Join us for the 38th Annual Sand Sculpture Contest at Drakes Beach in Point Reyes National Seashore for a fun day at the beach. EAC will be tabling and sharing our program work and volunteer opportunities.

The National Park Service at Point Reyes National Seashore welcomes all ages to this free community event, where you are encourage to design and build a sand sculpture. Get creative, and bring a picnic. This event is family based, but please remember no dogs are allowed on this designated swimming beach (no lifeguard on duty).

Children (fourteen years of age and under)
Families
Adult Individuals
Adult Groups

Three prizes will be awarded in each of those categories, along with prizes for the sculpture with the most recycled plastic included.

  • Build above the high tide line and away from the cliffs for your safety.

  • Only materials found on Drakes Beach may be incorporated into the structure.

  • Do not pick plants or pull rocks or gravel from the cliffs.

Please be aware that parking will be extremely limited during the contest and Drakes Beach will be heavily impacted with contest participants. If possible, please carpool with friends.
