In recent days, many of you have reached out to express your support and concern about how we’re responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. First and foremost, we hope you are all healthy. EAC’s mission is to protect the lands, waters, and biodiversity of West Marin. This includes supporting the health and wellness of the communities we serve.
We have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Point Reyes Birding & Nature Festival, as the health and safety of our flock is our top priority.
We are heartbroken to cancel the Festival. The Festival builds community and provides important education about irreplaceable biodiversity, and brings people and place together to deepen our connection to the natural world.
Financially, the Festival is important for EAC as it provides 20% of our overall income. Over the last ten years, the Festival has helped us protect wetlands, enact local protections for migratory and nesting birds, engage in land-use policies to protect habitat and species from development, protect our Tomales Bay and Bolinas Lagoon watersheds, and more.
