EAC’s Social Media Guidelines
This policy applies to all social media accounts and activities that are related to our organization, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms. When using social media, our followers will adhere to the following principles:
Respect: We will respect the rights and opinions of others, including those who may disagree with our views.
Professionalism: We will maintain a professional tone and demeanor in all our social media activities, even when we are expressing personal opinions.
Legal compliance: We will comply with all relevant laws and regulations. Because criteria and policies around content moderation and concerns like abuse and “hate speech" undergo changes for each platform, we will also refer to Facebook’s Community Standards, Twitter’s Rules & Policies, and Instagram’s Community Guidelines as starting points in how to moderate comments.
Comments from followers: We welcome and value the feedback and opinions of our followers on social media. However, we reserve the right to remove or hide any comments that violate the principles outlined in this policy, including, but not limited to:
Offensive or inappropriate language
Personal attacks or insults
Spam or self-promotion
Confidential or proprietary information
Violations of laws or regulations
We may also remove comments that are not related to the topic at hand or that do not contribute to a respectful and constructive conversation.
Social media is a powerful tool that can be used to engage with our stakeholders, raise awareness of our mission, and make a positive impact on the world. By adhering to the principles and guidelines outlined in this policy, we can use social media to its full potential without spreading hate and misinformation.
Thank you for your commitment to using social media in a responsible and professional manner.
