Welcoming Summer Interns and Recognizing Chris Mouawad!

EAC would like to welcome our summer Coastal Advocate, Communications, and Legal and Policy Interns. Our intern team contributes significantly to our advocacy and community engagement efforts by expanding our capacity and outreach. Meet our fantastic summertime crew and join us for our Capstone Conversations on August 10th from 10 am to 2 pm at the EAC office in Point Reyes Station to learn more about their impact and their summer projects.

Legal & Policy Team:

Amina Khribeche is a student at Golden Gate University School of Law. She plans to graduate law school with a specialization certificate in environmental law and hopes to eventually practice in this area of law.

Austin Gent is a UC Law San Francisco student pursuing a degree in environmental law, particularly land management and conservation law. He is interested in safeguarding native ecosystems from harmful land management practices and unsustainable human development in light of climate change.

Coastal Advocate Team:

Nathaniel Burroughs is a rising junior at the University of Pennsylvania, studying Environmental Policy and Application and Communications. Nathaniel hopes to pursue a career in environmental policy, sustainable business, or climate change communication.

Jessie Kamman will continue her internship on the Marin Marine Protected Area (MPA) Watch. She wishes to pursue a career in ocean science and conservation, particularly fish population research, to advocate for expanded protections and MPAs. She will be interning with NOAA next summer!

Communication Intern:

Katherine Loomans is a rising sophomore at Stanford University studying English and Communications. She hopes to channel her creativity and interest in storytelling into environmental advocacy and education with the EAC.

Recognizing Chris Mouawad:

And a special recognition to past intern Christopher Mouawad! Chris joined us as a Legal & Policy Intern in May 2023; in January 2024, he transitioned to our inaugural Legislative Fellow until May 2024. Chris was recently awarded the UC Davis King Hall Clinical Legal Education Association Outstanding Student Award.

We are so grateful for our interns, whose work helps advance our programs to protect coastal Marin. Our internship program offers students valuable opportunities and hands-on experience that will inspire their future careers. We hope you can meet some of our interns this summer!

Thank you to the Resources Legacy Fund, JW & HM Goodman Family Foundation, Cynthia Lloyd Scholars Fund, and individual donors like you for your generous support of our internship program.
